C. H. Wheeler & Co. advertised as general merchants, offering stereoscopes and stereoscopic views in 1864 and 1865. In 1865, Charles H. Wheeler is listed as the president of the American Stereoscope Co. at the same address. Elsewhere in the same directory, that company is called the American Stereoscopic Co. The 1904 volume Obsolete American Securities and Corporations lists the American Stereoscopic Co., established in Massachusettts (no date) which was dissolved in 1872.
