No Gender (Business or Collective)There were at least three iterations of Alfred A. Childs & Co. From 1852 to 1862 Childs partnered with J. G. Dodge in the firm which were primarily gilders. Childs worked alone until 1867 when he partnered with Daniel Kimball, Jr. and sold mirrors and artworks, and also published stereo views. The firm disappeared from city directories after 1870, and reappeared in 1875 with Wendall S. Childs as the proprietor. Alfred A. Childs died in October, 1884, though he kept the name until 1891.
