The Barnes-Crosby Co., a partnership initially of John A. Barnes and Sara Crosby in Chicago, was incorporated in 1898. The firm produced photo-engravings for advertisements. In 1899 they consolidated with another leading photo-engraver, A. Zeese & Co. and it was reported that "they employ between them more artists, engravers, photographers and salespeople than any other similar concern in the world." The firm had offices throughout the US and lasted into the 1930s.
