John Payson Soule
American, 1828-1904
MaleSoule first appears in Boston as Soule & Rogers, printsellers. After a few years appearing in city directories as a "photographist", he is listed thereafter as a photograph publisher. In 1883, he is succeeded at his 338 Washington Street address by the Soule Photograph Co. He lived briefly in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he divorced his wife, Harriet and worked as an upholsterer. In 1886 he is back in Boston, where he remarried and worked as an auctioneer of real estate for two years. From 1888 until his death in 1904, he is a photographer in Seattle, Washington.
