N. L. Coe & Son was a partnership of Norman L. Coe and Harold Leslie Coe. Norman had a studio at 681 Broadway starting in 1873. His son continued using the name N. L. Coe & Son after the father's death. Another son, Norman Leslie Coe, Jr. died in 1880 at age 4 1/2. Harold Coe was listed still on the 1930 census as a photographer in Manhattan.
