View raw data

A stereoscopic photograph in the New York Public Library collection bears the imprint of Chamberlain of Putnam, Connecticut. No information was found on this photographer. The image shows a woman with a horse in front of a variety store with the name of George Warren. On October 3, 1877 it was reported that a fire had destroyed a building, but spared the stock of "George Warren, news room and variety store." The fire also destroyed the photo studio of W. J. Dyer, who "lost everything." Warren's building was again destroyed by fire in July, 1882. Chamberlain presumably worked at some point during this time.
