Charles Edwin Barclay

MaleCharles Edwin Barclay, born May 17, 1876 in Missouri, was stationed in the Philippines during the Spanish-American War. By 1910 he had settled in Corvallis, Oregon and operated a photography studio. He married Lilly Webster the following year. His 1918 Draft Registration card states that he was working in a saw mill in Waldport and lived in Alsea, where in 1920 he was working in a candy factory (Lilly's occupation was given as "chocolate dipper"). By 1930, he was a carpenter in Philomath, where in 1940 he again had a photo studio. It is not clear if he was still practicing photography when he died November 9, 1947. He is buried in Alsea, Oregon with his wife, who died the following year.
