View raw data

Wallace Burden Stage was a New York photographer as early as 1898, according to service records from the Spanish-American War, in which he had enlisted in the National Guard. He first appeared in city directories in 1903. His photographs were published in the New York Times throughout the 1910s. Though spelled "Burden" elsewhere, he was listed as Wallace Burdon Stage, president of the Burdon Studio, in the 1920 directory. After his death the following year at age 42, his widow Helen G. Stage took over his studio. She was never listed with her own name, but as Mrs. W. Burden Stage or some variant.
