An brief mention of Alfred Chardon's death is published in an 1897 edition of Wilson's Photographic Magazine, in which he is described as the "old and well-known photographic experimenter" who was a "pioneer in emulsion work and had letterly given considerable attention to the perfecting of Poitevin's heliochromic process."
