Alexander Beckers arrived in the US from Prussia in June, 1836 and was naturalized in New York in October, 1844. He was a daguerreotypist and later inventor of a patented viewer for stereoscopic views which could hold hundreds of cards and allowed multiple simultaneous viewers.
