George W. Beal
American, 1827-1864
MaleGeorge W. Beal died in the Battle of Yellow Bayou in Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana on May 18, 1864. His military records note that he was a photographer in Natick, Massachusetts at the time of his death. An 1867 state-wide directory lists a "Mrs. Gearge Beals," photographer of Natick, surely a mistaken reference to his widow, Julia Ann Beal, who continued his studio after his death.
