Gordon was proprietor of the Elite Lantern Slide Co., established in 1903 and in operation under this name until at least 1916. GEH lists this company as a publisher of "song slides"- lanterns that illustrate songs. From 1909-1918, he is listed as the proprietor of the Gordon Music Publishing Co. at the same address (also his home address).Gordon was the Official Photographer to Belgium Military Mission to the U.S.A. in Washington (the Belgian Official Pictorial Service), according to a 1919 program for the screening of three reels of film on the Belgian army filmed under his direction.
