Edwin Forest Gay was a watchmaker and jeweler in Guelpg, Ontario before he arrived in Boston in 1856. He was a photographer in Falls River by the time of his naturalization in 1867. After his death from consumption in 1879, his wife Emily V. Gay continued his studio into the 1900s.
