James Frederick Barke

James Frederick Barke was born in England and was a photographer in Janesville, Wisconsin by 1867. He was a photographer in Council Bluffs, Iowa in 1880, in a household which included photographers Arthur Luff and Lewis Wells. He was briefly in Omaha, Nebraska before settling in Toronto, where he partnered with Luff as Barke & Luff in 1886. In 1899 he was a photographer in Gravenhurst, Ontario, where he died in 1902.
