Samuel Montague Fassett

Samuel Montague Fassett was an assistant to Alexander Hessler in 1855, and had his own studio the following year. In 1858 he partnered with George S. Cook as Fassett & Cook. The partnership lasted until 1861. He remained in Chicago through 1865 before removing to Washington DC in 1876. He was a photographer there until 1880, after which he worked in the Treasury Department. By 1890 he had returned to photography.
