Gianni Bettini was a chemist, electrician and dealer of phonographs before becoming manager of Bettini Syndicate in 1916. The Bettini Syndicate advertised "Cameras and Motion Picture Projectors" and was based in London. Passenger logs show that he took several trips to England and France in this period. His occupation was listed as "Scientist" on the 1930 census, but by 1933 he was again selling cameras.
