Raper James Waters
American, 1856-1937
MaleR. J. Waters was a photographer in Gold Hill, Nevada in 1880. He had returned to California, the state of his birth by 1887. By 1892 he had opened his own studio in San Francisco, where he advertised "copying, printing, developing, bromide enlarging, lantern slides, retouching, kodak work, California views and commercial photographs." By 1902 he had partnered with G. Moulin as R. J. Waters & Co. That firm continued into the 1920s, and later had G. W. Miller and Olga Dahl as partners. He was retired by 1926.
