View raw data

In 1893 Milton R. Hemperley advertised that he was for ten years the operator of Gilbert & Bacon's studio, and he succeeded them at 820 Arch Street. By 1897 he'd partnered with Mary A. R. Carnell as the Hemperley Studio, and in 1900 as Hemperley & Carnell. The following year they added a third partner and moved to 1314 Chestnut Street as Hemperley, Draper & Carnell. That studio was short lived, and Hemperley did not appear again in city directories, though he is listed in the 1910 Census as a photographer.
